What you'll cover

Six modules in the order we teach them, with a practice project built like real work along the way. One-on-one, your trainer shapes the depth and pace around your role and what you already know.

See where you'd start

  1. Module 1: Core Java

    Types, collections, generics, exceptions, streams and the newer language features such as records.

  2. Module 2: Spring Boot

    REST APIs, dependency injection, configuration, validation and error handling.

  3. Module 3: JPA and Hibernate

    Entities, relationships, queries, transactions and the N+1 query problem.

    Project 1

    An order-management API with Spring Boot, JPA and PostgreSQL, tested and running in Docker.

  4. Module 4: Microservices

    Service boundaries, REST and messaging between services, shared configuration and resilience.

  5. Module 5: React front end

    Components, state, forms and calling your own API from the browser.

  6. Module 6: Testing and shipping

    JUnit, Mockito, integration tests, Docker and a CI pipeline.

    Project 2

    A React front end for it, with sign-in, deployed through a pipeline.
