What you'll cover

Six modules in the order we teach them, with a practice project built like real work along the way. One-on-one, your trainer shapes the depth and pace around your role and what you already know.

  1. Module 1: SQL for data work

    Joins, window functions, query plans and data modelling.

  2. Module 2: Spark

    DataFrames, transformations, partitioning and tuning with PySpark.

  3. Module 3: Hadoop and the data lake

    HDFS, file formats such as Parquet, and lakehouse tables.

    Project 1

    A batch pipeline that loads raw files into a lakehouse and a reporting model, run by Airflow.

  4. Module 4: Kafka and streaming

    Topics, producers, consumers and stream processing.

  5. Module 5: Airflow

    DAGs, scheduling, retries, backfills and dependencies between tasks.

  6. Module 6: Warehousing

    Star schemas, slowly changing dimensions, Snowflake and Databricks.
